After beating the woman, the blood of the Khaola country, people took to the streets, the government slaughtered 28,000 people
China is identified as one of the countries in the world, who is notorious worldwide for suppressing the voice that arises here. China did a similar oppressive act in Taiwan before crushing the voices of supporters of democracy in Hong Kong and persecuting the Uygur Muslims. Actually, China massacred about 28 thousand people in Taiwan. This incident happened today, 74 years ago in Taiwan. This incident is known as '228 incident' or 'February 28 massacre' (February 28 massacre).
In fact, in 1947, there was an anti-government uprising in Taiwan, which was violently suppressed by the Chinese government led by the Kuomintang. This massacre triggered the White Terror. Thousands of people in Taiwan went missing or died in it. Some people were imprisoned. This event is one of the most important events in the modern history of Taiwan. This incident was an important inspiration for the Taiwan independence movement.
Why did China kill thousands of people?
From 1895 to 1945, the Japanese ruled over Taiwan. During this time, Japan developed a lot of Taiwan's infrastructure and economy. In this way the standard of living of most Taiwanese people increased. These reforms under Japanese colonial rule created a better perception among Taiwanese people about Japan.
At the same time, when the Allies won the Second World War, Japan handed over Taiwan to General Chiang Kai-Shek. General Chiang was the ruler of the Republic of China. In 1945 General Chiang began to rule Taiwan as the Republic of China. It is worth noting here that till now Taiwan was ruling on its own to some extent despite being under the control of Japan.
On the other hand, the top Chinese official named Chen Yi abolished the Japanese system after the General's order. It captured the crops and major things here. He started exploiting Taiwan through this control. Now the government officials of China in Taiwan got angry. At the same time, this incident increased anger within the people of Taiwan. Chinese soldiers started looting here. It also served to increase anger among the people. As a result, people started demonstrating against the government.
The dispute between the agents and the woman escalated into a massacre.
On the night of February 27, 1947, in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, agents of the 'Tobacco Monopoly Bureau' took cigarettes from a woman. At the same time, his money was also taken away. When the woman talked about returning the money and cigarette, an agent attacked the woman with a pistol. After this, an angry mob started gathering there. After this, the agents started fleeing from there. During this, he opened fire and one person died in it.
At the same time, on 28 February the next day, people troubled by rising unemployment, inflation and government corruption started demonstrating in Taiwan on a large scale. Initially, the protesters marched to the headquarters of the 'Tobacco Monopoly Bureau'. They demanded that the agents who murdered should be punished. But as the crowd of protesters moved towards Governor General Chen Yi's office, the guards started firing on them. After this, such a cycle of violence started that thousands of Taiwanese people were killed by China. In all, more than 28 thousand people were murdered.
