At the same time, the US State Department has officially sent invitations to the participants of 110 countries in this conference to be held from December 9-10 next month. This conference will be held virtual. Along with all the countries, US President Joe Biden has also invited Taiwan to the Democracy Conference. However, the US does not even recognize Taiwan as a country. At the same time, Pakistan has been invited to this conference but Turkey has not been invited. China is also angry with this move of America.
According to China's state media Global Times, Taiwan Affairs Office spokeswoman Xu Fenglian said in a press conference on Wednesday that the US has invited Taiwan to a conference based on the theme of democracy is a big mistake. China opposes any official talks between the US and Taiwan.
He also said that the US government has followed the 'One China Policy' and the US and China have officially issued joint communiqués three times on the Taiwan question. On November 16, a virtual conference was held between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden. However, both the countries did not consider this meeting to be very important.
In this meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping warned that some Americans are using Taiwan to control China. It is like playing with fire and whoever plays with fire will burn.
