Court's 'hammer' on the organizations of jailed Alexei Navalny, the court banned it as 'radical'

The troubles of the imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny are not taking the name of lessening. A Russian court on Wednesday declared the organizations founded by Navalny outlawed, terming them extremist. The court decided to disband an anti-corruption organization FBK and 'Citizen Rights Protection Foundation'. According to the Sputnik report, it also banned Navalny's activities after declaring his campaign offices as extremists.

The court said, the decision taken regarding the termination of the activities of these organizations comes into force with immediate effect. The move appears to be part of a campaign to undermine President Vladimir Putin's most prominent opposition leader ahead of parliamentary elections. Yevgeny Smirnov, a lawyer for Navalny, said during the hearing that prosecutors' proposals to ban the organizations showed they wanted to prevent the opposition leader from running for public office. Smirnov said, the matter has been linked to the law that bans all people associated with the Foundation for Fighting Corruption from being elected.

Navalani is serving a sentence in jail

Navalny, considered a staunch critic of Vladimir Putin, was arrested in January on his return from Germany. Navalani, who fell ill after being given a nerve agent, was undergoing treatment in Germany for five months. Navalny accused the Kremlin of giving nerve agents. However, Russian officials rejected the allegation. On the other hand, when he reached Moscow, he was arrested. Currently, Navalani is serving a sentence in jail in a fraud case. He was sentenced to 3.5 years, which was reduced to 2.5 years.

Navalni honored with Human Rights Award

At the same time, recently Alexei Navalny was awarded the Human Rights Award. On behalf of Navalny, this award was taken by his daughter Daria Navalnaya. Navalny, who has been strongly opposing Putin, has been given this award for his courage. Navalnaya said her father was dedicating the award for courage given by the Geneva Summit for Human Rights to all political prisoners held in Russia and Belarus. More than two dozen human rights groups selected Navalni for this award.

However, it is mandatory for such people to take both doses of the UAE-approved Kovid-19 Vaccines. This information has been given in the news in the media. According to the news of Gulf News, the Supreme Committee on Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai announced an update of Dubai's travel protocol regarding travelers coming from South Africa, Nigeria and India. This committee was headed by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Makhtoum.

According to this, only such travelers coming to Dubai from India will need a valid residential visa who have taken both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine validated by the UAE. According to the report, the four vaccines that the UAE government has recognized include Sinopharma, Pfizer-Biontech, Sputnik-V and Oxford-AstraZeneca.

About 30 lakh people had to run away from home
At the same time, the UN refugee agency said that despite the worldwide movement of people being disrupted due to the Kovid-19 crisis, about 3 million people had to flee their homes last year. These people were forced to do so because of war, violence, persecution and human rights violations and other reasons. The UNHRC said in its latest 'Global Trends' report that the total number of displaced people has increased to 824 million worldwide, which is almost the same as the population of Germany and this is a new record since World War II.

Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, said conflict and the impact of climate change in places such as Mozambique, Ethiopia's Tigre region and Africa's Sahel region are among the main reasons for the displacement of refugees in 2020. For the ninth year in a row, there has been an annual increase in the number of forced displaced people. "In a year when we were all confined to our homes in our cities, communities, about 3 million people actually had to be displaced because they had no other option," said Grandi.
