One dead, more than 40 injured in severe storm in northern Michigan

Gaylord (USA). At least one person was killed and more than 40 people were injured after a severe tornado hit the northern Michigan city of Gaylord on Friday. Vehicles overturned, buildings blown off roofs and trees and power poles were uprooted by the impact of the storm. The storm hit the city of Gaylord, about 370 kilometers northwest of Detroit, where about 4,200 people live at about 3:45 p.m. local time.
Car repair shop owner Mike Klepadlow said he and his staff took refuge in the bathroom. Brian Lawson, a spokesman for Munson Healthcare, said 23 people are being treated at Otesga Memorial Hospital and one person has died. He did not give the condition of the injured or the identity of the deceased.
