Over 100 drone assaults in Ukraine are reported by Russia

More than 100 drone assaults from Ukraine were recorded by Russian police on Friday, resulting in damage and at least one death across many areas.

Particularly hard hit were the regions of Belgorod on the Ukrainian border and Krasnodar in southern Russia.

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that a drone struck a vehicle in Belgorod, killing the mother and her child. Two men were hurt, one of them the father.

Images from the area indicate that after the gas station was struck, a sizable fire also started there.

An oil processing factory in Tuapse, in the Krasnodar area, had a significant fire.

The Black Sea city of Novorossiysk saw an attack on an oil facility and a harbor, according to eyewitness accounts on social media.

Nonetheless, all drone strikes had been thwarted, according to the local authorities.

The governor of Sevastopol, a city on the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea that Russia invaded in 2014, said that a crashed drone’s wreckage struck a municipal substation, causing the electricity to go out.

According to the Moscow Defense Ministry, 102 drones were intercepted or destroyed by Russian air defenses, with half of those incidents occurring over Crimea.

Russia stated that six unmanned explosive boats were also destroyed in the Black Sea.

Over two years after the conflict began, Ukraine is still shooting daily at targets on Russian territory.

The nation has also greatly increased its own drone manufacturing with assistance from the West.
