Pakistan: Imran's statement on Nawaz Sharif's family started 'Twitter war', 'War of Words' erupted between Maryam and Jemima Goldsmith
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had targeted Nawaz Sharif's family during a rally in PoK in the past and taunted. Now Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz has come to the ground to respond to Imran Khan's remarks. After the reply of Maryam Nawaz, Imran Khan's ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith joined the war of words, retaliated against him.
According to the report of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, a few days ago, Imran Khan took a dig at Maryam Nawaz's son Junaid Safdar playing polo at an election rally. He had said, 'The poor go to jail and the mighty (Nawaz Sharif) gets NRO so that he can go abroad and watch his grandson's polo match. Common man cannot play polo because it is a game of the rich. You need a lot of money to keep a horse and play polo. So tell us where did this money come from for this lovely grandson? This is public money.
Imran needed to answer
His taunt was answered by Maryam Nawaz, who is giving a tough challenge to Imran Khan's party in PoK elections. He said, 'My son Junaid is the captain of the polo team for Cambridge University and he is bringing honor to Pakistan. She is the grandson of Nawaz Sharif and not Goldsmith. Junaid did not grow up in the lap of Jews. Maryam Nawaz said that she did not want to bring children in this election, but the kind of statement Imran Khan has given, it was very important to give a befitting reply.
Jemima Goldsmith counterattacked
After this, Imran Khan's ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith entered the entire controversy. Responding to Maryam Nawaz, he said, 'Maryam Nawaz said that her children are growing up in the lap of Jews. That's why I left Pakistan in 2004 itself. For a decade, I faced anti-Semitic attacks from the media and politicians. Every week I used to get death threats and there were demonstrations outside my house and it is still going on.
Maryam Nawaz also commented on Jemima's counterattack. She tweeted and said, 'I am not interested in you or your children or your personal life because I have other things to do too.' Maryam said, 'If your ex-husband gives a statement on the family of others, then he will be answered. You should accuse your ex-husband.
