Tashkent: Chief Justice of Uzbekistan, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, had a bilateral meeting

Tashkent [Uzbekistan], May 24: While in Tashkent, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud had a bilateral meeting with Chief Justice of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyar Islamov. According to a statement issued after the meeting, the main focus of the conversation was developing bilateral collaboration between the highest courts of both countries.

Chief Justice CJI Chandrachud is in Tashkent for a conference of chief judges from nations that are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The Shanghai Conference (SCO) is an international body that was founded in June 2001 with a primary emphasis on regional security issues and the fight against extremism in religion, terrorism, and ethnic separatism.

The SCO has added regional development projects to its list of objectives in recent years.

In honor of the former Indian prime minister’s contributions to Indo-Uzbek ties and his historic visit to Tashkent, CJI Chandrachud paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri at the Shastri bust earlier this week on May 22.
