According to Russian official media, Russian President Vladimir Putin landed in Crimea on Saturday for a visit to commemorate the ninth anniversary of Russia's acquisition of the peninsula from Ukraine.

A brief film of Putin strolling with a group of officials in casual clothing was shown on state television, along with a promise of more information soon.

Eight years before beginning its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia captured Crimea in 2014. Ukraine declares that it would fight to drive Russia out of Crimea and all other areas that it has taken throughout the protracted conflict.
