An agreement to promote entrepreneurship in J&K is signed by NIFT Srinagar and IIM Jammu

To encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Srinagar and the Indian Institute of Management in Jammu signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday.

According to an official announcement, Dr. Javid Wani, the director of NIFT Srinagar, and Professor B S Sahay, the director of IIM Jammu, signed the Memorandum of Understanding at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi at Bharat Tex 2024.

A collaborative framework for convergence in academics, research, executive education, training, and the development of entrepreneurship and incubation facilities is envisioned for the two esteemed institutions under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding.

NIFT is India’s top fashion education institution, and the IIM Jammu was founded in 2016 as an Institute of National Importance (INI). The institution has been at the forefront of supplying professional human resources to the textile and apparel sector, with 18 campuses throughout the nation, including NIFT Srinagar, according to the statement.

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding, IIM Jammu and NIFT Srinagar will work together to close the knowledge gap between the two sectors, encourage multidisciplinary approaches to problem-solving, and guarantee the long-term viability of both institutions.
