How to Make and Use Homemade Jaggery Mehendi

Mehendi is often applied by women at important rituals. Any religious celebration or wedding must have mehendi. Mehendi is believed to provide good luck and optimism to a newlywed bride’s hands and feet in several Hindu cultures. In certain cultures, a pregnant woman’s belly might also get mehendi embellishments. However, mehendi has several undesirable consequences. Mehendi may result in irritation, redness, blisters, and in rare circumstances, scarring if it is not suitable for your skin. Jaggery mehendi is a good substitute for mehendi purchased from the market. Here are some pointers for jaggery mehendi application at home.

Ingredients

100 grams of jaggery, two teaspoons of henna powder, one teaspoon of red turmeric powder, also known as kumkum, 50 grams of sugar, 30 grams of cloves, a tin box, and a ceramic bowl are needed to make jaggery mehendi.

Method

The jaggery must first be ground before making jaggery mehendi. Then, create a tiny gap between the jaggery and the cloves in the tin box and add the jaggery. Bring the ceramic bowl over and set it in the gap created by the cloves. Before setting the bowl on a gas flame, add sugar and the red turmeric powder.

The next stage is keeping a container filled with water on top of the tin box and covering it. Jaggery will start melting and steam will start building up on the bowl soon. After a while, remove the bowl’s collected steam from the tin box and stir in some henna. It’s time for your jaggery mehendi.

How to Use

Your only responsibility when the mehendi is prepared is to apply it to your hands. To apply mehendi smoothly, you may get mehendi molds from the market. Simply set it on your hand’s palm and use a spoon to spread the mehendi on it. After finishing, get rid of the mold. Add a tiny amount of henna powder to the jaggery mehendi paste if you wish to use a cone to apply the mehendi. Create your favorite designs by adding paste to the cone.

Since jaggery mehendi is produced entirely of natural components and is devoid of chemicals, it is a lot more sensible alternative than those sold in stores. Not only is jaggery mehendi a dark color, but the color also lasts for a very long period. You may now quickly say goodbye to rapid fading.
