A Brahmin lived in a village. It was difficult to survive because of poverty. One day the Brahmin's wife took a vow to observe Kajali Teej in the month of Bhadrapada. There was no sattu in the house for the worship of Mata Teej. The wife said that you can bring sattu from wherever you want. Seeing the stubbornness and devotion of his wife, the Brahmin agreed to steal. He sneaked into a moneylender's shop in the evening and started taking sattu from there, when something fell on him, all the servants woke up and caught the Brahmin.

The Brahmin was taken to the moneylender. Where he was shouting loudly that he is not a thief. He had come to take Sattu only to fulfill his wife's fast. Hearing the words of the Brahmin, the moneylender asked him to be searched. However, he did not find anything other than Sattu. The moneylender, forgiving the brahmin, left by giving sattu as well as jewelry, mehndi, and money. After that everyone together worshiped Kajali Mata. By the grace of the mother, there was happiness in the life of the Brahmin family.
