Recruitment for Patents and Designs Examiners 2023: NTA to Hold Mains Papers 1, 2, on January 25

On January 25, the Examiner of Patents and Designs Mains Papers 1 and 2 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Applicants may sit for the main exam (papers I and 2) if they pass the preliminary exam (phase 1). At 260 centers spread over 103 locations nationwide, more than 89,657 applicants took the preliminary test for the recruitment process on December 21. On the official website, exams.nta.ac.in, the preliminary results for the Examiner of Patents and Designs will soon be accessible.

The NTA states that although paper 2 will be a descriptive exam, paper 1 will be a computer-based examination. Paper 2 will be given out in the evening shift, whereas Paper 1 will be given out in the morning.

Paper 1 will take two hours to complete and is worth 100 points. It will be broken down into the following sections: basic mathematics (20 marks), general aptitude (20 marks), comprehension of intellectual property rights (IPRs) (20 marks), general knowledge and current events (20 marks), and English language proficiency (20 marks). Candidates will have three hours to complete Paper 2, which has a 300 point value. It will include the scientific and technical aspects of the position for which they applied. The interview for the recruiting process will be made public on the internet at a later time.

Examiner of Patents and Designs Mains Paper 1 and Paper 2 city intimation slip and admission card release dates will be announced shortly on the official exams.nta.ac.in website.

Beginning in December 2023, the NTA will be hiring Patent and Designs Examiners for 553 posts at the Patent Office, which is part of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry’s Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.

Following the preliminary exam, the NTA made the answer key available and said that applicants may contest it from December 27 to 29 for the Patents and Recruitment Preliminary Exams 2023. The NTA had said in its release that applicants who are not happy with the Answer Key have to pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 for each question in order to protest it.
