Itanagar: There have been 176 new cases of corona virus infection in Arunachal Pradesh after which the total number of infected people has increased to 6,298. The new patients include nine security personnel. State Monitoring Officer Doctor L Jampa said that in this northeastern state, the death toll rose to 11 after a 50-year-old man died from infection. He said that out of the total new cases, 83 have come out from the Capital Complex area. It was followed by 20 from Changlong, 10 each from East Siang and West Kameng, nine from Lower Subansiri, seven from Papumpare and six from West Siang and Lower Siang districts.
Five new cases were reported in Tawang and Lower Dibang Valley, three in Longding, two each in Pakke Kisang, Tirap, Upper Siang and Leparda and one each in Siang, Upper Subansiri, Lohit and East Kameng. "The new patients include five personnel from Assam Rifles, one from the Indian Reserve Battalion, one from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police and two personnel from the state police," Zampa said.
He said that six personnel of the Border Roads Organization (BRO) and a health worker have also been found infected. In addition, 17 prisoners have been confirmed to be infected in the state. He said at least 156 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday after recovering. With this, the number of healthy people in the state has increased to 4,531. Zampa said that 1,756 patients are currently undergoing treatment in Arunachal Pradesh.
