37 people die in Pakistan due to landslides and heavy rain

According to officials, at least 37 people lost their lives in rain-related accidents in Pakistan over the previous 48 hours on Sunday.

Across Pakistan, rain-related accidents have caused homes to collapse and landslides to occur, blocking roadways, especially in the northwest region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), they added.

Since Thursday night, at least 27 people—mostly children—have allegedly perished in rain-related accidents in the Afghan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the provincial disaster management office.

According to the report, in the last 48 hours, severe rains struck ten districts in KPK, including Bajaur, Swat, Lower Dir, Malakand, Khyber, Peshawar, North, South Waziristan, and Lakki Marwat, resulting in 37 injuries.

In the southwest province of Balochistan, floods inundated the coastal town of Gwadar, necessitating the deployment of boats by authorities to evacuate residents, resulting in the death of at least five people.
