42-year-old kills himself after killing his wife and daughter, 4 years old

NEW DELHI: On Friday, a 42-year-old caterer in Nihal Vihar, outside of Delhi, was suspected of killing his wife and their 4-year-old daughter before hanging himself.

The police said that Ajay and his wife, Teena, often argued over household matters. According to a police source, “We are investigating whether the incident was premeditated or caused by sudden provocation, and whether it resulted from ongoing arguments or money problems.”
At 9.30 am on Friday, a PCR call was received, and a squad from the nearby police station hurried to the scene.

When police arrived, they found a disturbing scene: Ajay was found hanging from a ceiling fan, and his wife and daughter had been killed, with blood on their corpses suggesting a brutal, sharp-edged assault. Teams from the crime scene and FSL hurried over to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
Ajay’s cousin Sunil Kumar said, “The girl had an injury to her head, while the woman had injuries on her throat.” He also said that their bed had an empty dinner plate and a bottle of booze.
The couple also has an electrician son, Kushal, 22. He works at various events, and on Thursday night he was working outside his house. “When he returned, Kushal discovered the bodies,” a senior officer said.
He placed a PCR call and informed others. The door to the room where the corpses were discovered was shut from the inside, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Jimmy Chiram. This has led the police to suspect that Ajay killed his wife and child before killing himself.
The family has spent the last 20 years living in the neighbourhood, according to Kumar. “Ajay used to work as a home chef. He then launched his own catering company. He recalled taking orders on demand for weddings and birthdays.
A registered case has been made under the IPC’s Section 302 (murder). To determine the circumstances that led to this incident, the police are conducting a thorough investigation.
Kumar said that the couple’s second son had committed suicide five or six years before. “On Thursday, as Ajay and his daughter were making a purchase at a store, others saw them. He seemed pleasant and normal,” he continued.
