76 thousand cheated by QR code in the name of sending gas stove to military canteen

76 thousand cheated by QR code in the name of sending gas stove to military canteen

Cyber criminals are adopting new ways of cheating. In one such case, the trader registered on the website to increase the business, then after getting the number from there, Thugore contacted for purchase in the name of Military Canteen. Sent the QR code for payment of the amount and through it, by bluffing, slowly blew away about five and a half lakh rupees in four times.
This case of cyber fraud has reached the crime branch. Naulakha, a resident of Deepesh Agarwal, has complained. The complainant has a trading firm in Lohamandi. To increase the business, the complainant had registered his firm on the India Mart website. On September 9, he got a call from a person. The caller said that he introduced himself as Ravi Kumar and talked about getting the number from India Mart website. That person talked about getting a gas stove for Indore Military Cantonment. Made a deal of 20 gas chulhas and promised immediate payment on providing gas chulhas. Next day the trader delivered 20 gas stoves to the place mentioned by Ravi Kumar. After this the person concerned said that he would have to come because the gas stove would be paid directly in the account. The man said again, We are sending a QR code to verify the account number. If you scan this QR code, then only one rupee will come from your account to our account. This amount will also be returned along with the payment.
Blown rupees four times on a bluff, for the fifth time, the
businessman who survived the alleged Ravikumar sent one rupee after scanning the QR code, then immediately he got 2 rupees back. Then the person said that the payment will be in pieces, I am sending the QR code, after scanning it, 20 thousand rupees will be deposited in your account. When the QR code was scanned, the amount was deducted from the merchant's account, then the person said that there was a mistake. The fraud of returning the money happened four times and a total of 76444 rupees were deducted from the merchant's account, respectively, 20 thousand, 12 thousand, 22,222, 22,222. Then another QR code of 23 thousand was sent but by then the merchant had doubts and did not scan the code.
Woman said, another WhatsApp is running on my number, police is shutting down
A woman reached the crime branch on Tuesday afternoon with a complaint about WhatsApp. The woman told ASP Guruprasad Parashar that when she tried to download WhatsApp on the mobile number, it was found that someone else was running it. The person started harassing him by saying objectionable things. According to Parashar, usually someone runs another WhatsApp on your number due to the act of an acquaintance. The police started the process of shutting down WhatsApp by mail.

Advice to people, do not listen to those who are not in front, do not give OTP to anyone
, online fraud has increased in business. New methods are being invented. Don't believe the person unless there is a person in front of the trader.
If you send a QR code on the phone asking for a purchase, do not scan it, the account can be hacked.
- Do not send goods or make any payment until the person has deposited the amount in the account.
Another WhatsApp can run on your number only when it receives OTP. Often the case involves an acquaintance who has acquired the code by fraud. Do not tell your OTP to anyone for any work, fraud can happen.
