Following bomb threats in schools, Delhi L-G said it has tracked down the source of the fake message

The bomb threat against schools in the city and surrounding regions was described as a “hoax” by the Union Home Ministry and Delhi Police on Wednesday, and they urged the public to be calm.

The ministry said that police and security services are following procedure and taking the appropriate actions.

The source of the bomb threat emails that were received on Wednesday to many schools in the Delhi-NCR has been identified, according to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena of Delhi Police, who also promised that those responsible would face severe penalties.

“The Delhi Police has identified the source of these emails. There is an ongoing investigation. I would just add that anyone responsible for upsetting peace and harmony will face severe penalties and won’t be spared,” he said.

“There’s no need to freak out. It seems like Mails is a scam. According per procedure, Delhi Police and security services are taking the required actions,” a home ministry official said.

Schools in the nation’s capital and the nearby city of Noida were plunged into panic after 80 of them received bomb threats via email early in the morning.

After the emails were reported to the local police, all schools were evacuated.

The Delhi Public School (DPS) at Noida Sector 30, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Delhi Public School in Vasant Kunj, Amity School in Saket, and Delhi Public School (DPS) at Dwarka have all been threatened.

The police claim that once officers from the fire department, bomb disposal squad, and explosives detection team were sent to the Delhi schools, a search operation got underway right away.

Classes have been halted at DPS in Noida, according to Noida Police, and police officers have been called in.

“The police are conducting a thorough investigation around the school as soon as possible in response to the information.

In a short statement, the Noida Police said that other appropriate actions were also being taken.

According to an officer, a single individual is thought to be responsible for all of the identical threat letters that have been sent to other schools.

The Delhi Police Special Cell and other security organizations are searching for the email’s origin.
