A career-stitching assistance for women, thread by thread

For numerous years, the Arya Samaj, Nurpur, has provided free sewing instruction to women as part of its efforts to empower them. Needy girls and women from the town and neighboring rural regions are receiving this instruction as part of the six-month sewing workshops held on the grounds of the Arya Samaj Mandir in the town.

The training’s seventh batch will expire at the end of the month, and the next group will begin on April 1. Each batch includes ten to fifteen female trainees. Thus far, more than seventy-five girls have refined their sewing abilities and established long-term potential for self-employment. They are receiving specialized training in sewing outfits for women. Members of Arya Samaj participate in a havan that is carried out by the trainees prior to beginning a new batch.

The only goal of providing this instruction to the underprivileged women, according to Chander Prakash Mahajan, president of Arya Samaj, Nurpur, is to enable them to become self-sufficient.

He claimed that the participants received certificates in the conclusion of their six-month course. He said, “At the end of the training, each trainee also receives a lady’s suit and a thread box.”

According to Mahajan, donors had given the sewing machines used in the instruction.
