A councillor perished in an accident
Last night, a traffic accident outside Rampur village, close to Una city, claimed the life of Karnail Singh, a municipal councillor now serving on the Una Municipal Committee. The second rider on the unfortunate two-wheeler, Narinder Puri, was hurt. The two-wheeler the two of them were on went off the road around midnight on Friday, according to Additional SP Sanjeev Bhatia.
After being taken to the Una district hospital, Karnail Singh was pronounced dead and Narinder Puri was hospitalized. A while back, the Una Municipal Council selected Karnail Singh, a resident of Una city’s Ward No. 9 Behli Mohalla, as a council member.
In a another incident, at approximately 6.30 am, three citizens of Chandigarh were hurt when their vehicle on the Dharamsala-Chandigarh route collided with a wayside tree. Sonika, Monika, and Sumit—all 27 years old—were among those hurt. According to Bhatia, cases had been filed for both occurrences.
