ABSS 2023: PM Modi Promises That NEP Will Treat All Indian Languages With Respect

On Saturday in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, marking the third anniversary of the start of the new National Education Policy (NEP).

During his speech to the crowd at the inauguration ceremony, PM Modi talked at length on the National Education Policy and how it had influenced the nation over the previous three years. He then discussed how it planned to benefit students and the nation’s future. The National Educational Policy would provide every language in the nation the respect and recognition it deserves, he said. Now, those who attempt to use language politics for personal gain must shut their businesses.

For pupils in India, education in the home language is starting a new type of justice. It is also a huge stride in the direction of social fairness,” he said.

In light of the diversity and significance of the world’s languages, Prime Minister Modi emphasized how certain developed nations have gained an advantage because of their native tongues.

He used Europe as an example, where most nations speak their own national tongues. PM Modi highlighted his worry about how India’s several official languages are sometimes seen as being archaic. Unfortunately, persons who cannot communicate in English are often disregarded, and their abilities are not fully appreciated.

Children in rural regions continue to be the most impacted, as a consequence. With the introduction of the NEP, the nation has now started to reject this notion. I talk in an Indian tongue even at the UN,” he said.

Modi emphasized that classes would henceforth be taught in Indian languages, covering everything from social science to engineering. “The students’ skills and talent will emerge without any limitations when they are confident in a language,” he stated.

During his visit, the prime minister spoke with students as well.

Modi distributed the first installment of cash from the PM SHRI Scheme during the event.

“India is seen as a nursery for fresh possibilities by the rest of the globe. We are receiving requests from several nations to establish IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) campuses there. Two IIT campuses are poised to open their doors: one in Tanzania and one in Abu Dhabi. Numerous international colleges have also contacted us to show interest in establishing campuses in India, according to reports from PM Modi.

The worst unfairness, according to the prime minister, is when young people are judged on the basis of their language rather than their potential.

“The NEP aims to make India a hub of research and innovation,” he said. The policy accords old knowledge systems and cutting-edge technologies equal weight.

PM Modi also urged educators to educate children on issues like disaster preparedness, climate change, and renewable energy.

According to PM Modi, this would help them develop into active, useful, and contributing citizens who will help to create the kind of fair, inclusive society that is envisioned by the NEP.

Additionally, the PM will publish publications that have been translated into 12 Indian languages for use in school curricula.

The Bharat Mandapam in the former Pragati Maidan in New Delhi is the site of the two-day Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam.

Prior to the presentation on Saturday, PM Modi also stopped by an exhibition.
