According to Anurag Thakur, ModiNomics has produced over 50 crore employment

May 15, New Delhi Anurag Singh Thakur, a prominent BJP leader and union minister, said on Wednesday that the opposition INDI Alliance is using “misleading and hollow” claims about the lack of employment in the nation as part of their “bogus propaganda” in an attempt to get support for the current Lok Sabha elections.

In support of his claim, Thakur cited a report from the consulting group SKOCH that was just released. It indicates that since 2014, 5.14 crore person-years of employment have been created annually, totaling 51.4 crore person-years of employment over the decade ending in 2024 since the Narendra Modi government took office.

“Despite the global economic disruption and the downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the past decade has seen the creation of crores of sustainable jobs due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary, inclusive, and forward-looking policies and programmes,” he stated.

“The opposition’s claims have been exposed as nothing more than false propaganda by the SKOCH report, ‘Outcomes of ModiNomics: 2014-2024,’ which examines the volume and scope of employment created over the past ten years,” he said.

The minister also said that the opposition attempted to disseminate the myth that poverty had not decreased.

However, compared to the preceding “UPA Decade of Decay,” there has been a significant decline in the absolute number of people living in poverty during the “Modi Decade,” according to data-based studies conducted by international organizations like the World Bank and IMF, he noted.

“Corruption used to make headlines when the UPA, headed by the Congress, was in power. The Modi government’s unparalleled focus on development is now making news. That’s the main distinction, he said.

He also said how the Modi government’s ambitious Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has contributed significantly to the 3.6 crore jobs that are created annually. In addition, programs like the PM Swanidhi, PLI, Swachh Bharat Mission, Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Skill Development Scheme have all directly contributed to the creation of jobs for the populace.

“Modi 3.0 will bring bigger changes and transformation,” said the minister. In not too long, our economy will rise to the third rank in the world.

Thakur said, “Up to 7 crore 60 lakh people have been enrolled in EPFO from 2018 to 2024,” citing job statistics. This indicates that even though COVID caused economic disruption for over two years, a large number of individuals were able to find work in the official sector.

“More than 30 crore e-shram cards were distributed, enabling individuals to get back on their feet. One crore 44 lakh individuals found work under the Modi administration last year. These numbers clearly show that the unemployment rate is declining over time,” he said.

Additionally, he said that GST receipts increased from around Rs 90,000 crore to over Rs 2,14 thousand crore in only two years.

This demonstrates the enormous growth of our company. If this growth continues, won’t the employment rate also rise? In a similar vein, foreign direct investment rose to $71 billion from $31 billion. Additionally, this has improved job prospects throughout the nation, according to Thakur.
