After conflicts, the DMK candidate claims that the BJP is attempting to disturb law and order

Ganapathy P Rajkumar, the DMK candidate, said on Friday that the BJP had hired thugs from various states to disturb the peace in the city. “The BJP is taking such extreme measures out of fear of losing,” he said to the media after police detained four BJP members for allegedly beating up MDMK official Gunasekaran (51), who raised concerns about an alleged election code violation on Thursday night.

Police said that Gunasekaran and members of other INDIA bloc parties stopped BJP cadres on Thursday night and questioned them about suspected MCC breaches. The two sides clashed as a consequence of this. Following a discussion, cops separated the wounded members of the INDIA bloc.

Gunasekaran’s accusation led to the police filing charges under sections 143, 294 (b), and 323 of the IPC against BJP cadres Masanai Saravanan, Anandan, Ranganathan, and Lakshmi Senthil. Additionally, BJP officials reported suspicious activities to Peelamedu police, who then issued a community service register (CSR).

Booking for Annamalai

K Annamalai and employees J Ramesh Kumar and Senthil Kumar are the targets of a complaint filed by Peelamedu police for allegedly going past the 10 p.m. deadline on Thursday to campaign at Elango Nagar and Avarampalayam Bus station, in violation of the model code of conduct (MCC). In response to a complaint filed by Abhirama Sundari, the in-charge of the video surveillance team, the case was filed under the IPC’s sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 290 (public annoyance), and 341 (wrongful restraint).

In response, Annamalai argued that while the MCC prohibits candidates from using public address systems between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., it does not prevent them from holding meetings with constituents after 10 p.m. “It would take a long time to get to the campaign’s final goal. I apologized to the public when I met them for the wait. There is no MCC violation here. For me, people waited for almost four hours. How am I going to get out of here without seeing them? He asked.

“I did not bring any outsiders for the Coimbatore election campaign,” he said. DMK is afraid of losing.
