After the resignation of Biplab Deb, Tripura will get a new CM, the new leader will be selected in the legislature party meeting

New Delhi. After the resignation of Chief Minister Biplab Deb, a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party will be held on Saturday to select the new leader in Tripura. According to sources, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav and senior leader and party's national general secretary Vinod Tawde have been made central observers for the selection of the new leader. Both the leaders are currently in Agartala and will attend the legislature party meeting. Apart from these two leaders, Vinod Sonkar, in-charge of BJP MP Vatripura, will also be present in this meeting.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Saturday suddenly met Governor SN Arya and submitted his resignation to him. A day earlier, he had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda in the capital Delhi. Sources said that it is expected that Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma will take charge of the Chief Minister. Verma is associated with the royal family of Tripura. Significantly, the assembly elections in Tripura are due next year.
