Amid confusion about the BJP’s choice for Rajasthan’s chief minister, Vasundhara Raje departs for Delhi

Rajasthan: Amid speculation over the BJP’s choice for the state’s chief minister, BJP leader and former chief minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje has gone for Delhi ahead of the party’s Parliamentary board meeting on Thursday (tomorrow).

This happened after she was visited by about sixty of the recently elected BJP MLAs on Monday and Tuesday at her home in Civil Lines. On Thursday, Raje is probably going to meet with the BJP high leadership.

Raje’s trip to Delhi would be noteworthy as the saffron party has not yet named Rajasthan’s next chief minister despite winning the state’s assembly elections.

PM Modi and other senior party figures are expected to attend the parliamentary meeting on Thursday. There will probably be talks on who will become the chief minister of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

According to party insiders, a meeting of the BJP legislative party would be scheduled before the party’s parliamentary board selects the chief minister’s name.

On the other hand, the party has not yet released any information on the legislative party meeting. Two-time chief minister Raje is one of the favorites to become the next chief minister.

The results of the Assembly election, which were released on Sunday, showed that the Congress had won 69 seats and the BJP had 115. November 25 saw elections for 199 of the state’s 200 seats.

Election results in Karanpur, where voting was postponed because of the death of the Congress candidate, will be announced on January 8.
