Amritsar: Training for internships

Amritsar: Under the direction of Principal and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) President Dr. Amardeep Gupta, DAV College, Amritsar, organized an internship training program for students. Participants in the training with Rishab’s Lab were Radhika Sharma, Mehak Khanna, Divya, Mehak Gangotra of BCA (Semester IV), and Harkirat Singh of BSc (Semester IV).

Along with Dainik Jagran, Yogesh from BA (Semester VI) and Jesika from BA (Semester IV) attended the training. BCA (Semester VI) student Agam Arora participated in training with SNL Innovation Pvt Ltd. The many facets of software development, database management, and web design were taught to the pupils. Principal Gupta praised the students and said that the training gives them a chance to explore and enhance their careers as well as pick up new skills. The applied aspects of their education, such as collaboration, digital skills, problem-solving, and creative thinking, will be actively pursued by them.

Punjab U-19 Inter-District Tournament

Firozpur was defeated by 15 runs in the league match of the Punjab State Inter-District U-19 Tournament, which was won by the Amritsar squad. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Amritsar reached an all-out total of 227. Rishabh Gupta scored 64 runs, while Varinder Singh Lohat scored 85. For 45 runs, Varun Kaushal claimed five wickets. At all out, Firozpur scored 200 runs. Arshdeep Singh claimed four wickets at a cost of 41 runs, while Parvinder Singh scored 48 runs. Amritsar reached 190 all out in the second inning of play. 68 runs were made by Armanjit Singh, while Raghav Dhawan claimed five wickets at a cost of 68. Amritsar led by 217 runs overall, while Firozpur needed 218 runs to win the game. Firozpur scored 202 runs in the second inning with no outs. Amritsar prevailed by a margin of 15 runs thanks to 63 runs made by Vivek Vardhan and seven wickets taken at a cost of 63 runs by Varun Deep.

The Khalsa College Governing Council fervently commemorated Guru Amardas’ Parkash Purb at the Gurdwara Sahib on the college grounds. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, the council secretary, accompanied Guru Charan on this particular occasion. principal of Khalsa College Senior Secondary School and Sikh historian Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani educated the audience on the teachings of Sri Guru Amardas, including how to give up superstitions and live a life in accordance with Sikh beliefs.

Workshop about pedagogy

A program aiming at revolutionizing classroom teaching techniques for primary wing children was held at Shri Ram Ashram Public School. The goal of the workshop was to provide teachers with cutting-edge resources and methods for successfully engaging children and fostering a love of learning. The speakers—Anureet Sharma, Shikha Mehra, Karan Diana, and Megha Khanna—all work as faculty members at the school and discussed the use of instructional tools in the classroom. The NCERT recommends using 53 teaching and learning tools with Bal Vatika. Additional teaching tools (TLA/TLM) may be developed based on classroom needs. These tools should be low-cost or free, and environmentally friendly. The workshop’s highlights included sessions that integrated gameification, storytelling, and practical exercises into the curriculum, all of which were in line with the school’s dedication to comprehensive education. Modern teaching tools and online resources were presented to the participants in order to improve student engagement and accommodate a variety of learning preferences.
