Andhra Pradesh: Police in NTR Seize Rs. 8 Crore in Cash from a Lorry at the Garikapadu Check Post

On Wednesday, May 9, in the midst of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, police confiscated Rs 8 crores in cash from the Garikapadu check post in the NTR district of Andhra Pradesh. Two people have been arrested after the money was found in a separate cabin in a pipe-loaded vehicle.

The money was being carried from Hyderabad to Guntur, according to the news agency ANI. Circle Inspector Chandra Shekhar said, “We will turn over this amount to the district scrutiny teams, and the Election Commission officials and flying squad team will take further action.”

Cash of Rs. 8 Crore Seized

To count the money that had been taken, the police and election officials brought counting equipment. Police are gathering additional information about the truck driver and conducting an investigation.

On May 13, there will be simultaneous elections for the Andhra Pradesh legislature and Lok Sabha. We now know that the funds are extracted in order to disburse them to voters.
