“Anyay Kaal”: Priyanka Gandhi criticizes the BJP after the guy who oversaw the Uttarakhand tunnel rescue operation’s home was demolished by the DDA

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress politician, blasted the BJP on Thursday for the demolition of a rat-hole miner’s home who assisted in the rescue operation in the Silkyara tunnel. She said that the BJP’s “anyay kaal” really consists of demolishing impoverished people’s homes and degrading them.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) carried out a demolition campaign in the Khajoori Khas region on Wednesday, demolishing many homes, including that of Wakeel Hassan, who was praised for freeing 41 workers who were trapped in Uttarkashi’s Silkyara tunnel in November of last year with his group of rat-hole miners.

Vadra posted a video of Hassan’s wife on X, in which she is heard claiming that her husband was the revered hero of Uttarkashi and that, in return, “they took away my house.”

Vadra said that Hassan put his life in danger to free the laborers who were stranded in the Uttarkashi tunnel.

Then, prominent BJP politicians had pictures taken with him for their PR. The general secretary of Congress said, “Now that the publicity has subsided, Wakeel Hassan was locked in the police station today, his house was demolished, and his children’s roof was taken away.”

“The reality of the BJP’s ‘anyay kaal’ is that the impoverished are being crushed, their houses destroyed, and they are being tortured and humiliated.” There will be a mass reaction to this injustice, Vadra said.

The demolition operation was conducted on property that was “part of planned development land,” according to a statement made by the DDA on Wednesday.

According to police, during the operation, a number of unlawfully constructed buildings were destroyed.

Hassan rejected the DDA’s offer to relocate him and his family to a temporary residence shortly after his home was destroyed, according to reports on Thursday.

Hassan told PTI that he was also informed by DDA officials that he will soon get a home in the Govindpuri neighborhood, but he declined the offer as it was only a “verbal assurance.”
