Asaduddin Owaisi: BRS Will Establish Government in Telangana Using Its Own Strength

Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of AIMIM, said on Tuesday that he is certain his party would win all nine of the seats it is vying for and that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao, will form the government in Telangana on its own in the Assembly elections on November 30.

“Inshallah, BRS will undoubtedly establish a government on their own initiative. The BRS will undoubtedly win enough seats to form a government on its own, I’m very sure. And all nine seats would see AIMIM victory,” the MP from Hyderabad told PTI.

The amicable ally of BRS in Telangana, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has fielded candidates in nine seats for the 2019 Assembly elections. In Telangana, AIMIM won seven seats in the 2018 Assembly elections.

Following his door-to-door campaign, Owaisi said, “It is a very good response and the love and affection which people have for our party and I am sure that this love and affection which is being showered on us will convert into votes and we will definitely win.”

Asaduddin has previously called on the public to support BRS in the remaining seats and AIMIM candidates wherever they run.

In Telangana, the saffron party had a BC president (Bandi Sanjay Kumar), but they ousted him and installed an upper caste member as the party president, according to Owaisi, who criticized the BJP for failing to carry out a “caste census.”

The women’s reservation law enacted by Parliament did not include reservation (sub-quota for Muslim and OBC women), according to Owaisi, who also said, “They do not want to do a caste census and this clearly exposes BJP’s stand on OBCs.”

Following AIMIM’s submission, Owaisi enumerated the efforts made for the welfare of minorities under the BRS rule, noting that “Communal peace has been maintained in the state and there is no mob lynching for the last nine and a half years.”

Referring to Congress politician Kamal Nath’s alleged remarks that Rajiv Gandhi’s contribution to the Ram temple in Ayodhya should not be overlooked and that the BJP cannot take credit for the temple’s building, Owaisi remarked, “Congress party had promised reconstruction of Babri mosque and what happened to it.”

Their leader, Kamal Nath, now claims that Rajiv Gandhi unlocked the Babri Masjid’s doors, allowing work to begin on the site of the mosque. He also claims that this is the true face of the Congress party.

They share the BJP’s “Hindutva” beliefs. In my view, RSS is led by RSS, and Congress is the mother of RSS. He said, “The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, led by A Revanth Reddy, has an RSS background. The Congress symbol, ‘panja’ (Hand), is in the hands of the RSS in Telangana.”

Owaisi further said that the national government, headed by the Bharatiya Janata Party, was sitting on a resolution passed by the Telangana Assembly that would have increased reservations for Muslims and Scheduled Tribes.

“A request to raise their quota has been addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. And the Union Government is conveniently sitting on it, so it needs to take care of it,” he said.

Owaisi also wanted to know why the previous BJP administration in Karnataka had eliminated the 4% Muslim reservation, which the Congress government in that state had not reinstated.
