Aware of a fierce competition, Sukhbir closely monitors the Bathinda sector

Sukhbir Badal, the head of the SAD, is focusing more on this seat since Harsimrat Kaur Badal, a former Union minister and three-time Bathinda MP, is up against newcomers in her Lok Sabha seat.

In the last ten days, Sukhbir has been in this parliamentary constituency for four days. During this time, Harsimrat’s younger brother, former minister Bikram Singh Majithia, has also made one trip to this constituency. In addition, Harsimrat’s kids went with her to the constituency.

In this constituency, Sukhbir spoke at a few political events on May 8, 10, 13, and even today. Additionally, he has met with SAD activists from the Bathinda parliamentary seat at his home in Badal village.

According to sources in SAD, the Badals were proceeding carefully since Bathinda is their home district and all nine of the MLAs in this parliamentary seat now support the AAP.

Given the prestige of the position for the Badal family, Sukhbir could spend more time in the Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency in the days to come. He maintains phone contact with the party workers in this highly heated constituency even while he is traveling to other areas. A top SAD leader said, “The other parties’ candidates themselves or their families have Akali origin.

SAD (A) has fielded gangster-turned-activist Lakhvir Singh Lakha Sidhana, while the AAP has fielded MLA Lambi-cum-Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, the Congress has fielded former Talwandi Sabo MLA Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, and the BJP has fielded Parampal Kaur Sidhu, daughter-in-law of senior SAD leader Sikander Singh Maluka.

Lambi, Bathinda urban, Bathinda rural, Bhucho Mandi, Talwandi Sabo, Maur, Mansa, Sardulgarh, and Mansa Assembly constituencies make up the Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency.
