According to a party official, Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, would speak at four public gatherings in Chhattisgarh on Saturday and Sunday before the election.
Gandhi will land in Raipur on Saturday at 11.45 am and go to the Bhanupratappur seat to speak at a rally at 1 pm, the state Congress’s communication wing chief, Sushil Anand Shukla, said on Friday.
“At 2:00 PM, he will speak at a second rally in the Bastar region’s Farasgaon, which is part of the Kondagaon assembly segment. He would speak at rallies in the seats of Rajnandgaon and Kawardha on Sunday at 1 and 2.50 p.m., respectively, according to Shukla.
These four seats are part of the twenty that will be subject to first-phase elections on November 7.
On November 17, the 90-member legislature will hold elections for the remaining 70 members. Votes will be tallied on December 3.
