Bengaluru is rocked by the double murder of elderly men over a property dispute; the accused called police to confess

On Wednesday night, two elderly people were tragically murdered in Kumbarpet, downtown Bengaluru, causing shock waves.

A property dispute resulted in the deadly stabbings of 50-year-old Suresh and 68-year-old Mahendra at a nearby store. Badriprasad, the accused murderer, is said to have confessed to the police control center shortly after the crime was committed.

The event happened on Wednesday night when Badriprasad went to Suresh’s store, Sri Hari Enterprises, on Kumbarpet Main Road and requested to talk with him.

Then, according to the allegations, he pulled a button knife from his luggage and repeatedly stabbed Suresh in the neck. As Mahindra, a friend of Suresh’s, raced to assist him after hearing his cries, the accused is also suspected of stabbing Mahindra to death.

Badriprasad allegedly contacted the police control center after committing the crime and admitted to it. Police officers from Halasuru Gate came at the location where the accused turned himself in.

Preliminary research, according to sources, indicated that the issue started when a neighborhood group was given ownership of a four-story structure on the main thoroughfare. The accused had gone to talk to Suresh about the case, which was still pending in court.

After the murder, a forensic team showed up at the scene. Police in Halasuru have taken Badriprasad into custody and opened a complaint. Investigations are still being conducted further.
