Bhopal Daily | Vindhya seat formula based on OBC, Brahmin, and Kshatriya

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is working on selecting candidates for a significant number of seats in Delhi. However, for the three unreserved seats in the Vindhya area of MP, the governing party may choose to use the OBC-Brahmin-Kshatriya formula. The party is considering fielding new candidates for the three seats, especially in light of the fact that OBC leader and four-time MP Ganesh Singh lost the most recent assembly elections from the Satna sector, while Riti Pathak, a two-time MP from the Sidhi seat, won. Additionally, the party intends to choose a new candidate to succeed Janardan Mishra, the existing MP from Rewa for a second term.

One BAP MLA is being held for extortion and violence.

In the tribal-dominated Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh, Kamleshwar Dodiyar, the lone MLA for the Bhartiya Adivasi Party (BAP), has been charged with attacking Tapan Roy, the proprietor of a medical shop, and demanding `1 crore in extortion after accusing Roy of engaging in unlawful activities. Roy’s accusation has led to the filing of a formal complaint under Sections 384, 327, 323, 294, and 506 IPC. The newly elected MLA from the Sailana-ST seat in the Ratlam district comes from a very low-income family and raised money to run in the 2023 election using crowdsourcing.

SP intends to increase its base in Khajuraho

In the most recent Congress-SP seat-sharing agreement, the Akhilesh Yadav-led party seems to have secured the Khajuraho Lok Sabha seat due to the lack of a strong candidate in the Congress and the Samajwadi Party’s ambitious aspirations to grow in the Bundelkhand area of Uttar Pradesh by establishing a base in Khajuraho. Sources claim that SP has bought property on the outskirts of Khajuraho as part of its intentions to increase its potential in the Bundelkhand area. In the 2004 elections, the SP—which has been polling third or fourth in Khajuraho since 1999—was mostly to blame for Congress’s elimination from the seat. Uma Bharti, the former chief minister, has won the Khajuraho seat four times before.
