SHO Sunil Razak of Ahiyapur police station said that the criminals took bank employees and customers hostage at gunpoint. There were four bank employees and six customers inside the branch. The criminals forced the bank officials to open the vault, but at that time there was not much cash in the branch vault. In total, 4.68 lakh rupees were looted.

The SHO said that the faces of some criminals were covered with mufflers and caps. There was no firing during the incident. Simultaneously, the criminals took the mobile phones of bank employees and customers before fleeing. Earlier on January 8, five criminals robbed 17.09 lakh rupees from Bandhan Bank branch in Donava under Sakra police station area in Muzaffarpur.

However, the STF recovered Rs 16.71 lakh of the looted amount and arrested four criminals from Kankarbagh in Patna within 12 hours of the incident. At the same time, on January 7, four criminals entered inside the branch of Punjab National Bank in Bakhari of Begusarai, but they could not be looted. An FIR was registered in connection with the robbery attempt by the bank manager.

The rising crime in the state has once again increased the problems of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
