BJP leader claimed that DK Shivakumar offered Rs 100 crore to damage Kumaraswamy, PM Modi’s reputation

Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), G Devaraje Gowda, who was recently arrested, claimed on Friday that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar of Karnataka had offered him Rs 100 crore to damage the reputations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and HD Kumaraswamy, the former chief minister and president of the JDS state, according to PTI.

Speaking to media on Friday from a police car after his judicial custody transfer, Devaraje Gowda said that Shivakumar had even paid him an advance payment of Rs 5 crore.

“Police filed proceedings against me when I turned down the offer, which resulted in my arrest. When I’m liberated, I’m ready to reveal DK Shivakumar. He said that the Karnataka Congress administration was about to fall.

“I was instructed to assert that HD Kumaraswamy was the one who circulated pen drives containing explicit videos (involving Prajwal Revanna, the nephew of former PM HD Deve Gowda),” Devaraje Gowda said. But the mastermind behind the whole plan was DK Shivakumar, who obtained the pen drive from Prajwal Revanna’s chauffeur, Karthik Gowda.

He said that N Cheluvarayaswamy, Krishna Byre Gowda, Priyank Kharge, and another minister organized a committee to oversee the sex video scandal’s progress.

“They carefully plotted to damage the reputations of the BJP, HD Kumaraswamy, and Prime Minister Modi. They sent an advance of Rs 5 crore to Room No. 110 at Bowring Club along with a promise of Rs 100 crore. Gopalaswamy, a prominent Channarayapatna native, was sent to broker the agreement, according to Devaraje Gowda.

The offer of Rs 100 crore to discredit Prime Minister Modi by linking him to the sex scandal was made by DK Shivakumar. Dismantling Kumaraswamy politically is Shivakumar’s main goal, he said.

“They first accused me of being involved in an atrocity case, but they never provided any proof, when I refused to take part in their plans. They then accused me of being the victim of sexual harassment. They brought a rape complaint against me when this strategy failed as well. They questioned me for four days, but they didn’t find any evidence that would implicate me,” he said.

“I have audio recordings of the talks Shivakumar had. Devaraje Gowda said as the police car drove away, “I will release them, and the Congress government will collapse once I am released from custody.”

Devaraje Gowda said on May 6 that Shivakumar was responsible for the pen drive holding the footage of the sexual assaults. He said that the Congress party’s main goal was Prime Minister Modi.

He continued by saying he didn’t trust the SIT committee that the Karnataka government had assembled to look into the sex scandal.

“I’ll provide the CBI all of the proof. “The videos I own are not the same as those that have been released yet,” he said.
