New Delhi. BSP chief Mayawati on Monday said that her party has always stood with the central government on issues related to defense and security, irrespective of which party was in power, amidst the ongoing deadlock between India and China in Ladakh. He said that burning issues like increase in petrol and diesel prices cannot be suppressed due to the ongoing war between Congress and BJP on Indo-China border issue. The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also attacked the Congress, indirectly citing the statement of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in which Priyanka had called the BSP an 'undisclosed spokesperson' of the BJP in gestures.
He said that from time to time, the Congress and other parties have been making such wrong allegations on the BSP according to their selfishness. Mayawati said that 'self-sufficient India' is a good step, but the full benefit of many schemes being run by the central and state governments is not reaching the poor. Citing deadlock on the border in Ladakh, he said, "BSP is a principled party. She has always stood with the central government on the issue related to defense and security, irrespective of which party was in government.
