Bus carrying 40 pilgrims to Sabarimala flips in Kerala, injuring several

Following an accident involving the bus they were riding in in the Kottayam district on Wednesday morning, police said that more than 13 Sabarimala pilgrims suffered injuries. According to them, the accident happened in Kanamala, close to Erumeli. The pilgrims were making their way to the hill shrine in the Pathanamthitta district. They came from Kolar, which is in the neighboring state of Karnataka. According to a senior official, the car had up to 43 passengers when the driver lost control of it, including 40 pilgrims.

Approximately 13 individuals were hurt, he said. He said that four people were transferred to the public hospital and some other accident victims were hospitalized to a neighboring private hospital. The officer claimed that four wounded pilgrims were taken immediately to the government medical college here.
