Chamba: Teachers and SMCs recognized for raising educational standards

Ritika Jindal, the Pangi Resident Commissioner, recognized many government primary school school school management committees (SMCs) on Friday for their efforts to improve the standard of instruction provided in the academic year 2023–2024.

Speaking at the gathering at the Killar Library building, Jindal went into detail on the function, obligations, and contributions of SMCs in relation to students’ overall growth. She urged educators to collaborate and support the growth of schools in their local communities with SMCs. According to her, the valley was home to 65 elementary schools, of which around thirty were taught by a single teacher. She commended educators for their dedication to upholding the standard of instruction.

Jindal recommended that other schools in the valley carry out similar initiatives. He commended the Kulal Primary School’s Ladla-Ladli Janmotsav project and the Kavas Primary School’s teachers for growing a variety of fruit-bearing plants.

First place went to SMC Government Primary School in Kulal; second and third place went to Government Primary Schools in Karel and Findpar, respectively.

During the ceremony, many junior basic teachers (JBTs) were recognized for their exceptional work. These were Devi Charan from Government Primary School in Findpar, Rajkumar from Government Primary School in Karel, Rajkumar Rana from Government Primary School in Kavas, and Surendra Kumar from Government Primary School in Kulal.

This time, teachers from different schools and members of SMCs were present, along with Block Project Officer (Samgra Shiksha), Headmaster of Government Primary School Killar, Bhagwan Das Chauhan, Block Primary Education Officer Karam Chand, and Block Resource Coordinator Nihal Sharma.
