Chandigarh Police have added a murder charge to the chargesheet in the PGI killer injection case

Under Sections 302 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, the police have filed a chargesheet against Jaspreet Kaur, Jasmeet Singh, Buta Singh, and Mandeep Singh in connection with an alleged incident in which a lady passed away at the PGI last year after the administration of a hazardous injection.

Jatinder Kaur, the complainant, had claimed that on November 4, 2023, her sister-in-law, Harmeet Kaur, gave birth to a child at a Banur, Rajpura, private clinic. She was taken to the PGI, Chandigarh, after complaining of renal discomfort after the birth.

She was sent to the gynecology ward on November 13. The dead reportedly received an injection from a woman acting as a nurse two days later, on November 15, at 11:05 p.m.

The lady became agitated and fled when questioned about the injection. Harmeet passed away later as her condition deteriorated.

According to the authorities, Jaspreet Kaur received payment for administering the shot from Jasmeet Singh, the victim’s brother. Jasmeet was accused by the police of having paid Buta Singh and Mandeep Singh money to arrange an injection. The injection was said to include a combination of sanitizer, sleeping tablets, and pest-killer spray.

According to the police, Mandeep Singh and Buta Singh spent two days conducting a victim reconnaissance at the PGI and told Jaspreet Kaur where the victim was located in the gynecological ward.
