CM Siddaramaiah: Raise Karnataka’s electricity output to 60k MW

The generation should rise in tandem with the increasing demand for electricity. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said here on Saturday that the state’s electricity output will expand from the current 32,000 MW to 60,000 MW over the course of the next seven years.

Currently, conventional energy sources account for the remaining 63% of electricity output. Three stages of seven hours of electricity are being provided to farmers. Farmers would be able to set up solar-enabled IP sets under the Kusuma B and C schemes, with an 80% subsidy (30% from the Centre and 50% from the State), he added. The government will give the motor, meter, panel, and wiring. He went on, “Farmers should take full advantage of the program to become self-sufficient and empowered to expand agricultural activities.”Speaking at the Raita Soura Shakti Mela, app, and solar panel launches at the KPTCL pump station on the University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK campus in Bengaluru, was him.

Additionally, the government will support farmers in growing their crops and exports. Farmers’ land holdings have substantially dropped during the last ten years, along with the amount of space that may be farmed. According to him, this is the reason the government is pushing farmers to adopt integrated agricultural practices. 600 substations have been identified, according to Energy Minister KJ George, and 107 bids have been called for. According to him, the Pavagada model—which involves leasing out property and collecting an extra fee from the lessee each year—would be adopted. The money collected will go toward developing the region and establishing panchayat boundaries.
