Cong Chief Mallikarjun Kharge Requests Prez Murmu’s Time on Behalf of the Opposition To Discuss Manipur Issue

On behalf of the opposition parties, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has asked President Droupadi Murmu for time on Tuesday to address the Manipur issue.

According to the sources, he has not yet had the President’s confirmation of this.

The opposition parties have been calling for the prime minister to make a statement in Parliament as well as a thorough examination of the violent situation in Manipur in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The President has also been asked to intervene in the matter by the opposition parties, who claim that countless people have died as a consequence of the continuing unrest in the northeastern state that the BJP controls.

21 opposition members of parliament have visited an ethnically tense state in India. After touring the impacted regions and chatting with residents of relief camps situated in both the hills and the valley, they notified INDIA alliance leaders about the situation there.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a leader of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha, visited Manipur as a member of the opposition delegation and called the situation there “grave.”
