Congress government saw a surge in crime: Ashoka, the head of the Karnataka opposition

The state’s law and order has disintegrated under the Siddaramaiah-led Congress administration, according to Assembly Leader of Opposition R Ashoka, who made these accusations on Wednesday. Bengaluru has become the “crime capital,” particularly when it comes to cybercrimes.

There were 1,80,742 recorded crimes in year, a 25–30% rise over the previous year. Compared to our previous BJP administration, it climbed by 40%. There has been a 56% rise in incidents of violence against older adults. Regarding reports of violence against women, the state comes in third. Bengaluru is fast becoming as a hub for criminal activity; in just one year, cybercrime alone has resulted in the theft of Rs 432 crore. Citing a study from the National Crime Records Bureau, he said in the Assembly that Bengaluru was evolving from a safe city to a metropolis plagued by crime.

He said that since the government dropped 1,600 charges against KFD and PFI, terrorist activity has been unhindered, which has increased the confidence of anti-social groups.

He remarked, “The state intelligence agency has failed on many occasions. The National Investigation Agency is raiding terrorist hideouts in the state and arresting suspects.”

He said that the Congress administration planned Karsevak Srikanth Pujary’s arrest in Hubballi to coincide with the opening of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

When the majority of the defendants in the case had already been found not guilty, Pujary was detained 31 years after he was accused of being a Karsevak. He said that the administration intentionally took action to deter karsevaks in the state from attending the consecration. He said that while Sunil Kumar has charges against him, he is a proud karsevak himself.

Ashoka was advised by Ministers MB Patil, Priyank Kharge, and others not to draw comparisons between Pujary and Sunil Kumar. Pujary is facing many criminal charges, including ones involving gambling. In response, Ashoka said that there are cases against even Rahul Gandhi, while Sunil Kumar gestured to DK Shivakumar, the deputy chief minister, who is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate.

According to him, the people residing in Keragodu had set up a flag post independently by obtaining authorization from the authorities to raise a Hanuma Dhwaja.

“They had been working on the project for more than a month before the flag was raised, but the government didn’t bring it up until after the flag was raised. He said that after the Hanuma Dhwaja was removed at three in the morning, the authorities hoisted the national flag in violation of procedure.

Retaliating, Agriculture Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy said that the BJP attempted to sabotage Mandya’s peace and harmony in order to forward its political agenda.

Anger about the Hanuman flag problem in the house

Bengaluru: On Wednesday, lawmakers of the ruling Congress, the opposition BJP, and the JDS raised a commotion in the Assembly over the Keragodu Hanuman dhwaja incident that was reported in January of this year. R Ashoka, the Assembly’s Leader of Opposition, said that the gram panchayat had authorized the flag’s raising and issued a resolution. This is untrue. No permission was requested by the organizers to raise the Hanuman flag.

They had applied for authorization to put up the flagpole. The permission was given within certain guidelines. In response to Ashoka, Mandya district minister N Chaluvarayaswamy said that the trust had also provided written authorization that they would only fly the national flag. Chaluvarayaswamy went on to say that government property was harmed in the Keragodu incident.

In the meanwhile, Mandya MLA Ravi Ganiga said that the people who stirred up trouble in Keregodu are not locals. He said, “They are from Chikkamagaluru and Mangaluru.” BJP workers from Dakshina Kannada were enraged by this and started a commotion.
