He was speaking on the sidelines of the statewide agitation organized by Congress against inflation, GST, and unemployment in Mumbai on Friday. He said that in this era of unemployment, the work of sprinkling salt on the wounds of youth has been done by the Central Government through Agneepath Yojana. Patole said that when the Congress announced to surround the Raj Bhavan to answer these questions of the people, the ED government of the state started arresting Congress leaders and workers from Thursday night itself. At the same time, the rest of the Congress leaders were arrested by the police when they were leaving the Vidhan Bhavan on Friday to protest. Patole said that the ED government has tried to crush the Congress movement on the strength of its strength, but we are not afraid of such actions. We will continue to fight for the issues of the people.

Under the leadership of Congress state president Nana Patole, a call was given for Raj Bhavan Gherao and Jailbharo movement on Friday, but the police arrested Congress leaders and workers from different parts of Mumbai. The police had started arresting Congress functionaries and workers from Thursday night itself. More than 10 thousand activists were detained in Mumbai and its surroundings. Congress State President Nana Patole, Balasaheb Thorat, Ashok Chavan, Varsha Gaikwad, Former Minister State Working President Chandrakant Handore, Naseem Khan, MLA Amar Rajurkar, Wajahat Mirza, Abhijit Vanjari State General Secretary Devanand Pawar, Pramod More were arrested in the Vidhan Bhawan premises itself. It was taken when they were leaving for the Raj Bhavan gherao. While former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, former State President Manikrao Thackeray, former Minister Dr. Nitin Raut, Aslam Sheikh, Mumbai Congress President Bhai Jagtap, Chief Spokesperson Atul Londhe, General Secretary Rajesh Sharma were arrested in the Malabar Hill complex.

In a press conference held at Gandhi Bhavan after the agitation, Nana Patole said that when Congress was protesting across the country, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were taken into custody by the police in Delhi. He said that the treatment of Priyanka Gandhi by the police is highly objectionable and condemnable. The Congress party strongly opposes this political atrocity of the BJP government. Patole said raising questions of people is not a crime in a democracy, but Narendra Modi's government does not believe in democracy and attempts are being made to suppress the voice of the opposition.

Talking to reporters during the agitation, Congress Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat said that the movement was possible even during British rule. But now that there are democracies in the country but the state government is stopping people from agitating on this issue. He said that apart from the milk of children, the central government has also imposed GST on essential commodities like salt and flour. Thorat said that the government does not want to answer the issue of inflation. He asked whether there was a ban on movement under the ED government. On Friday, Maharashtra Congress agitated across the state on the issues of inflation, unemployment, GST, the Agneepath scheme, and farmers and raised slogans against the BJP government at the Center and in the state.
