In Jammu and Kashmir, 808 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported on Friday, taking the total number of infections to 1,36,470, while four deaths in the last 24 hours increased the total number of deaths in the Union Territory to 2,023. Of the new cases, 283 have emerged from Jammu division and 525 from Kashmir division. Officials said that 144 tourists were involved in 808 new cases.
He said that maximum 299 cases were reported in Srinagar district, including 61 tourists, followed by 164 cases in Jammu and 104 cases in Baramulla. The number of patients under treatment in the Union Territory is now 6,115, while 1,28,332 patients have been cured so far.
Coronavirus figures in the country
A record 1,45,384 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country in a day, after which the total number of people infected so far has increased to 1,32,05,926. According to the Health Ministry data, the number of people under treatment increased again to more than 10 lakhs after about six and a half months. 794 more people died due to the virus, the highest number for any single day since October 18 last year. The total number of people killed so far has increased to 1,68,436 from this infection. The daily number of infected people in the country has increased for the 31st consecutive day. At present, treatment of 10,46,631 infected people is underway, which is 7.93 percent of the total number of people infected so far, while the rate of recovery of people after getting infected has fallen further to 90.80 percent.
