An official said on Thursday that a father has been given a life term in jail for raping his six-year-old daughter by a special court in this city.
According to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the court additionally fined the man Rs. 55,000, according to Special District Government Counsel Alka Upmanyu.
She said that on January 14, when her mother was abroad, her father sexually assaulted the kid at her residence. When she complained of discomfort and blood was discovered on her clothing, the incident was discovered, and a lawsuit was then filed, Upmanyu stated.
According to the official, the guy was sentenced to life in prison and a punishment of Rs 50,000 under the POCSO Act and one year of hard labor and a fine of Rs 5,000 under IPC section 323 following a quick trial that concluded 40 days after the charge sheet was submitted.
The official said that the terms would run consecutively and that the defendant would face an additional year in jail if the payment were not paid.
