cried out, pleaded for aid, Maliwal remembers

Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal described the alleged attack on her at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house on Thursday. She said that despite her cries for assistance, no one responded.

Maliwal told a news outlet, “I was screaming and begging for help but no one came there.”

Following an alleged attack on Maliwal at the chief minister’s house in north Delhi’s Civil Lines on May 13, Delhi Police detained Bibhav Kumar, the chief minister’s close aide. He was given five days of police imprisonment by a local court.

Recalling the events of May 13, Maliwal claimed she went to visit Chief Minister Arvinder Kumar at his home at approximately nine in the morning. Maliwal was informed by the CM home staff that Kejriwal was there and was requested to wait for him in the drawing room.

“Bibhav Kumar, Arvind Kejriwal ji’s PA, then arrived in a hostile manner, and I questioned, ‘Kya Hua Kejriwalji aa rahe hai. Is that right? (What took place? Will Kejriwal arrive? He smacked me after I stated thus much. She stated, “He (Bibhav Kumar) slapped me seven or eight times.”

The lawmaker said that Bibhav grabbed her legs and pulled her as she attempted to shove him. “My head struck the main table.” As soon as I hit the ground, Bibhav struck me with his legs. She said, “I was screaming and pleading for help, but nobody came.”

Maliwal said that she had no idea whether she had been beaten up at someone else’s request.

The member of the Rajya Sabha said that Kejriwal was shielding Kumar. It is a reality that, in spite of all, Arvind ji has not called me or even met me as of yet. The accused is being protected by Arvind ji. Everyone in the whole group has been given instructions to kill my character,” Maliwal said.

Shaina NC, a BJP politician, alleged that Maliwal was the head of the Delhi Commission for Women and an MP in the Rajya Sabha. However, she is in her own party with this problem. This makes one wonder about safety. This is a major issue, thus we demand that the truth be revealed to everyone and that the AAP takes appropriate action against individuals at fault.

The CM finally spoke out about the issue a day ago, telling news agency PTI that he thought justice should be done and that a proper probe into the situation was warranted.

The chief minister’s parents were not questioned by the Delhi Police when they visited their home on Thursday.

“Police postpone asking Kejriwal’s parents questions.”

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s parents were not questioned by Delhi Police on Thursday on the “assault” case of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Kejriwal had said on Wednesday that his parents, who are old and sick, will be questioned by the police the following day. According to sources, police may stop by his house in the next few days to interview him. In the next days, they could interrogate Kejriwal as well, according to sources.
