Delhi: Four people, including a 54-year-old peon, gang-raped a class 5 student at an MCD-run school

Police said on Thursday that a class 5 student was reportedly gang-raped by a 54-year-old peon employed by her MCD-run school and his three accomplices.
In relation to the occurrence, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has sent a notification to the MCD and the local police.
Police said the peon, known as Ajay, has been taken into custody and that they are working to find his colleagues.
The police further said that for the previous ten years, Ajay, a resident of Ghaziabad and a native of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, had been a peon at the school managed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
Police report that the incident happened on March 14. The girl stopped attending school after the event, and she also missed her final examinations.
Details of the event
When the student's instructor called her brother to ask about her absence from the final examinations, he learned about the event. According to investigators, her brother told the instructor about the event.
According to the complaint, the accused brought the girl from the school to an unidentified location, drugged her with an unidentified substance, and then committed gangrape with his accomplices, according to the police.
According to Amrutha Guguloth, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), the event was reported to authorities on Wednesday by the principal of the school in Ghazipur and many other instructors.
According to authorities, the woman was taken to the Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital where she had a medical checkup and received counselling.
A statement from MCD
The MCD said in a statement that show-cause letters had been sent to the school's principal and the class teacher for failing to take quick action, i.e., not promptly contacting the higher authorities.
In a statement released on Thursday, the MCD claimed that on March 14, a female student in Class V of the Shahadara Zone was the victim of a sexual assault.
"The student missed the yearly test the next day. In order to let her mother know why she wasn't in class, the instructor informed her of the same. Her mother first claimed that she had a stomachache and was having loose motions, but she subsequently told the class instructor that a school employee had sexually assaulted her "MCD said.
The school's principal reportedly attempted to persuade the girl's parents to come to the school to make a complaint against the accused, but they were adamant that they would not do so with the school or the police, according to the report.
"The principal then reported the event to the zonal authority. Given the seriousness of the occurrence, a committee of two school inspectors—one of whom was a woman—inquired into the situation and produced a report. Ajay Kumar, the school attendant, has been suspended with immediate effect in light of the committee's conclusions "MCD said.
At the Gazipur police station, a case was filed under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act as well as Indian Penal Code sections 363 (kidnapping), 328 (inflicting harm with the intent to commit an offence), 376D (gangrape), and 506 (criminal intimidation).
In the meanwhile, DCW has sent the Delhi Police a notice on the situation.
"Four individuals gang-raped an MCD school kid in class five. A school peon was the one who was engaged in the event. This situation is quite severe. I'm giving the MCD and Delhi Police notice. Take the strictest possible action. Where is the female kid if she is not safe even at school?" Swati Maliwal, the head of DCW, said in a Hindi tweet.
