Delhi: Many gates of four metro stations closed due to 'dress rehearsal', opened later

New Delhi: Several gates of four Delhi Metro stations remained closed till 11 am due to the 'dress rehearsal' being held on Saturday for the Independence Day celebrations. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) gave this information. However, the gates of ITO, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, and Delhi Gate metro stations were opened after a few hours. DMRC tweeted, "Due to dress rehearsal for Independence Day celebrations, the following gates are closed till 11 AM.

These include gates number one, two, and three of ITO metro station, gate number four of Red Fort metro station, gates number three and four of Jama Masjid metro station, and gates number one, four, and five of Delhi Gate metro station. In another tweet, DMRC said, all stations are open and other gates can be used for entry/exit. Later in the day, DMRC said in another tweet, that the entry/exit gates have been reopened.

All gates are open for entry/exit at ITO, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, and Delhi Gate Metro stations. The DMRC had said on Friday that given the security measures on the occasion of Independence Day, a vehicle parking facility will not be available at metro stations of Delhi from 6 am on Sunday to 2 pm on Monday. However, Metro train services will continue to run normally.
