Drugs Worth Rs 150 Cr Found in Maharashtra by Ahmedabad Police and DRI’s Pune Unit; Three Arrested

During an operation in the neighboring state of Maharashtra, the Ahmedabad police and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) discovered drugs worth Rs 150 crore and detained three people, an official said on Sunday.

According to Chaitanya Mandlik, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Crime), Ahmedabad, the Crime Branch and DRI confiscated cocaine, mephedrone (MD), and ketamine from two factories and several homes in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra during a combined operation.

“In Aurangabad, the DRI Pune and Ahmedabad Crime Branch conducted a combined operation where we raided two factories, a few residences, and confiscated narcotics worth Rs 150 crore. According to him, the cost of the confiscated contraband would be three to four times higher on foreign markets.

According to him, the Crime Branch’s intelligence input led to the dismantling of the narcotics network. Three people were also detained, and the DRI has filed a case against them.

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) forbids the use of cocaine, MD, and ketamine, each of which are well-known party drugs and potent CNS stimulants.
