Ex-minister and three-time BJD MLA join Odisha BJP

Former Odisha minister and three-time MLA from Nimapara Samir Ranjan Dash left the BJD on Sunday and joined the BJP since he was not given a ticket for the state’s assembly elections, according to reports. This time, two BJD MPs in office and seven MLAs left the party before of the election to join the BJP.

2009, 2014, and 2019 saw Dash serve as the assembly representative for Nimapara. “After feeling ignored by BJD, I shifted my allegiance to the BJP.The BJD leadership no longer has faith in me. It is improper for me to remain in the party after betraying their confidence,” Dash said.
