Families of Workers Evacuated in Uttarkashi Celebrate Their Loved Ones’ Rescue from the Uttarakhand Tunnel

After their loved ones were successfully rescued on Tuesday, the relatives of the 41 workers who had been trapped beneath the rubble of a partly collapsed tunnel in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, for the previous 17 days, burst into tears. Images of the rescued workers’ families celebrating the successful end of the rescue mission have emerged from throughout the nation.

In Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, fireworks were let off to mark Vishal’s release from the Silkyara tunnel. Vishal is one of the 41 laborers who had been previously imprisoned.

The family of Bhagban Batra, another worker who was saved, was seen rejoicing over his safe return from the tunnel, which had turned into a pit of despair for them. Family members of Batra celebrated the happy occasion by lighting firecrackers.

When Manjit’s family in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, learned that all 41 of the workers had died, they started celebrating at his home.

After their labors paid off, the members of the National Disaster save Force (NDRF), who had worked nonstop to save the 41 employees from danger, also joyfully danced. To commemorate the success of the rescue operation, members of the NDRF took part in cutting cake.

When the workers saw the rescuers, one of the NDRF members who had entered the tunnel in the closing stages of the operation informed the media that they were stuck in their heightened chanting of “NDRF ki jai ho.”

“The 41 trapped workers yelled, ‘NDRF ki jai ho,’ as soon as I walked inside. They were all very happy.” Although getting inside was a bit challenging, our training was excellent.After three individuals entered, a few SDRF rescuers joined us. The oldest employee among them was the first to be saved.News agency ANI reported that NDRF personnel Manmohan Singh said, “We took about 1.5 hours to rescue all 41 workers.”
